8. Welles Fargo [Wells Fargo]

I got that one right away so I thought I would post it as I may not get a chance to look at the rest right away.

BTW, this puzzle definitely warrants the "Hard" rating. =S

A couple more I think are correct:

3. Handel Bar [Handlebar]
6. Braided Bunch [Brady Bunch]

I would consider #1 to be the most difficult, followed by #5. #4 is also up there in difficulty, for both its obscurity and its double-punnery. #4's probably also my favorite though.

But I also created them, so I guess I may not be the best judge of it.

I reworded #1 slightly for clarity. It's still pretty well obfuscated though.

I'll extend the answering period for a week. Here's some hints:

1. It's a fairly common proverb
2. Or of salsas
3. [correct]
4. A horticulturist might take this from work
5. Something a sports fan might do
6. [correct]
7. The pan is hot.
8. [correct]

That should yield at least one more correct answer. Well, maybe.

Ah... 2. A change of pace

We don't have Pace down here... nearly forgot they exist.

Nice one Will... I wouldn't have gotten that one easily as we don't have any of the same warehouse clubs here in Canada except Costco. And I thought of all the salsas I could, but didn't come up with Pace. =)

I guess combined we got 5 of Hawkins' 8. Not so good this time. =( Definitely a "hard" puzzle.

I realized a couple of days after posting this puzzle that Pace didn't exist anymore (at least that's what I gather from wikipedia.) That one was actually supposed to be one of the easier ones.
