4 raccoons + 6 mice = 12 squirrels + 14 mice

[Subtract 6 mice from each side of equation.]

4 raccoons = 12 squirrels + 8 mice

[Divide each side of equation by 4.]

1 raccoon = 3 squirrels + 2 mice

Assuming that all ropes intersected the poles at the halfway mark, and that all weight of tackle was negated out by its counter-tackle... then yes I agree, although in my head I worded it "5 mice & 1 squirrel"... but then again I suppose it's "Four of one, half a dozen of the other"

You know, I typically hate (the real version of) that cliche, but you had me laughing for a good ten minutes or so there, Bill.
